Guilt-Free Brunch Ideas

Guilt-Free Brunch Ideas

More often than not, the only thing that gets us out of bed on the weekends is… eating. More specifically, scarfing down some brunch. But sometimes, the reality of that brunch — coupled with some alcoholic drinks (read: mimosas) — sends us right back to… well, bed.

Recently, this realization led us to ask the question: Are there some healthy-ish brunch meals out there that won’t cause us to hit the snooze button right away? The answer: Indeed, there are.

Below, three guilt-free brunch ideas that won’t put you in a nap coma.

An Acai Bowl

Delicious and healthy, acai bowls are essentially thick smoothie bowls loaded with toppings. Made of pulped and flash-frozen acai berries that are pureed with other frozen fruit, they’re served with a variety of toppings, including fresh fruit, granola, seeds, nuts, peanut butter, etc. Yum!

Egg Skillet

A healthy, hearty breakfast? Yes, please. An egg skillet is a savory breakfast dish that has it all– crispy potatoes, onions, eggs, cheese, and ham or bacon. If you’re vegan, toss the ham or bacon for some tomato sauce and peppers. Best of all, while this brunch meal is filling, it’s also ultra-healthy and easy to make.

Gluten-Free Waffles

Ah, what screams brunch more than carbs? That said, instead of opting for regular ‘ol waffles this weekend, we suggest ordering (or making) perfectly fluffy gluten-free waffles. With a lightly crisp outside and some yummy fruit to accompany the dish, you won’t regret the choice.
